Description Situated on the south-eastern part of the island, East Coast Park is the largest and the most popular park in Singapore.
Themed "Recreation For All", this park offers a wide range of facilities - be it food, recreation, entertainment and sports - for the enjoyment of all, from the young to the old, for the outdoor, active types to the passive. Bowling alleys, golf driving range, holiday chalets, restaurants and hawker centre can all be found in this park.
Come to the park during weekends, sit under the swaying coconut palms, Casuarinas and Ketapangs, and enjoy having your picnics with your families or friends. Sit back and let the cool sea breeze and the sounds of the waves ease your troubles away.
For those looking for action, there are water-sports - offered by the Sailing Club and the People's Association, cycling and in-line skating, rented by concessionaires at a low fee. In the evenings, bring your families and friends down for a barbecue and overnight camping.
Besides recreation, this once-barren reclaimed land offers a diversity of both flora and fauna. Several isolated parcels of land were left to grow wild into bird sanctuaries and you will be able to spot some species of birds not seen in this park before.
The park is lit from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am.
Facilities Large open spaces, fitness equipment at Areas B, C and E, 80 barbecue pits, 12 km cycle track, 15 km jogging track, bicycle and skates rental kiosks, 7.5 km sandy beach, refreshment kiosks, restrooms, restaurants, hawker centre, water sports centre, tennis courts, ponds, reflexology footpaths, bowling alleys, holiday chalets, camp sites.
How to get there Take Bus SBS 16,155, 196 to Marine Crescent. Ask ppl the direction to East Coast Park. Walk through housing estate to find for an underpass or overhead bridge. When you cross to the other side, you will find the 15KM long East Coast Park.

Marine Crescent Bus Stop
Walk in to the Housing Estate in the direction of East Coast Park or East Coast Expressway
Cross over the East Coast Expressway using several underpass or over head bridge along the road. This particular underpass will lead you to the most happening area in East Coast Park with Mac Donalds, Coffee Bean, Beach Pubs, 7 Eleven and Food Court.
Rent a bicycle for only SG 2(Normal BMX)/4(Moutain Bike) per hour, rollerblade also available for rent. A trip from one end to the other end of the 12 KM bicycle track takes around 2 hours with lot of time to rest and take pictures. If you want to see and to be seen, dress your best and cycle near to the hot and happening area.
Rollerblading is also very popular in the park. There is separate tracks for jogging and cycling/roller blading with no engine vehicle (except maintenance vehicle) it is a very safe place. But beware of hooligan group cyclist who cycle in groups in high speed (just joking, just group of youngster having fun). Dress code, there don't seems to have a dress code as I can see variety dressing from long sleve & Tudung till to sexy swim suit or shirtless for guys.
Camping along East Coast Park. Don't know if they would allowed you to camp for the night there, but I can see a few homeless people sleeping there.
7.5 KM of beach. Not a perfect Patong like beach but it is an okie beach. For surfing, lots of local surfers there but really can't imagine how do they surf with a just small wave. More like floating in their surf board, guess they are just there to see and to be seen. For sun bathing, you are sure to find a quiet spot along the 7.5 KM beach.
Canoeing seems to be another favourite sports activities there. You won't have to feel out of place canoing alone as there is always a group of ppl canoeing there.
Yatching at the yatch club
After all those beach activities, there is clean toilet/shower facility along the East Coast Park for public use. The facility is free of charge only for own consumption, you can't take large amount of water out of the facilities. It clearly note there in big sign, if large water is taken out, there will be charges.
BBQ by the beach and not have sand in you meat. There is 80 proper BBQ area along the East Coast Park but booking is required.
Empty BBQ spot
BBQ Pit. Very clean indeed.
Fishing facility. They set up piers extending out to the sea for fishing activities. Best part is there is lots of shades station set up.
